Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert among NBA players on Twitter in awe of Jrue Holiday’s clutch performance in Bucks win over Celtics

There’s always a moment in each series that you can look back on and pinpoint exactly where that series was won or lost.

While the Milwaukee Bucks still have one more game to win, if they do progress they can look back at Wednesday’s Game 5 win at the TD Garden and know exactly where it was won.

Milwaukee was led by Giannis Antetokounmpo who had 40 points and 11 rebounds in another monster performance from the reigning Finals MVP, but it was two huge defensive plays from guard Jrue Holiday that sealed the win for the Bucks.

Holiday finished the game with 24 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and one crucial steal.

The first impressive defensive sequence took place with the Bucks up one with 11.4 seconds on the clock when the Celtics inbounded the ball in their frontcourt.

Marcus Smart beat Pat Connaughton but Holiday came in from the weakside to block Smart, before having the mental wherewithal to throw the ball off the Celtics’ Defensive Player of the Year to retain possession for Milwaukee.

Then, with the Bucks up 110-107 after two made free throws from Connaughton, the Celtics had no timeouts remaining and had to go the length of the floor. Once again it was Holiday vs. Smart and the Bucks’ guard once again made the huge defensive play, stripping Smart of the ball at mid-court to run out the last couple of seconds.
